They're unfamiliar, not hard. Our tone-first method starts with listening drills on tone pairs (the hardest part) before you speak a word, and your tutor gives instant feedback in every session. Most learners are reliably producing all four tones within 3–4 weeks.

Simplified (used in mainland China and Singapore) is the default track. A traditional-character track (used in Taiwan and Hong Kong) is available in settings, and advanced learners can toggle both — the curriculum maps every character across the two systems.

With 15 minutes a day plus one weekly tutor session, most learners handle everyday conversations — ordering food, small talk, taxis — in about 4–6 months, and pass HSK 2 comfortably. Characters take longer than speech, which is why our Listen → Speak → Read → Write method gets you talking first.
