In 2021, our founder Ananya Sharma had abandoned Mandarin three times. The apps were shallow, the textbooks were dusty, and classes moved at the speed of the slowest student. What finally worked was a patient native tutor in Chengdu, ten minutes of practice a day, and a lot of C-pop.
She teamed up with linguists and engineers in Panchkula to bottle that experience. Polar Linguist launched in 2023 with a single promise: do one language, and do it better than anyone. Today, 21,400+ learners study Mandarin with more than 60 native tutors across every HSK level.
